Learn how to do the best fried rice

For some time that Asian food is everywhere. Before there were only Chinese restaurants where not always cleaning and food quality were the most recommended, but they liked because it was an exotic food that Westerners loved. It should not be very difficult to make fried rice. After all, when you see it in the Asian restaurant, all the ingredients that compose the dish are familiar to you: rice, carrots, chicken and egg. Maybe that soybean was a strange spice sometime ago because that was not part of our usual diet. But now you can find soy sauce and soybean in any supermarket.

Therefore, the next time you feel to try a traditional oriental dish, why not doing yourself at home. For sure that will be cheaper than going to the restaurant, but also can be a great experience also. And if that was not enough, you can give your own particular touch that will make your fried rice unique into the world.

Ingredients for preparing fried rice

There are several ways to make the fried rice, but all of them have the same basic ingredients: 4 cups of white rice, 1/2 pound cooked chicken, 2 carrots, 3 eggs, 1 medium yellow onion, and 1 cup of bean sprouts.

To spice up those main ingredients you will need 1 clove of garlic, 1 tsp. of fresh ginger, a pinch of black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt, 3 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, 2 tablespoons of sesame oil and finally green onions, but these only for decorating and being completely optional.

As you can see, all the ingredients are available at any grocery store, so you will not have problem to find them. Now let’s see how to cook it all to make a delicious fried rice.

Steps to follow to make fried rice

The main thing is to have the base of the plate, which is white rice. Bring it to boil depending on the time that it is indicate in the package of rice, and that can vary depending on the brand or type of rice. Normal is 10 minutes.

While the rice is boiling, you can prepare the rest of the ingredients, which are the vegetables: wash the carrots, medium onion, garlic clove, ginger root and the cup of bean sprouts. Once everything is cleaned and prepared, cut the carrots and onions.
Important thing is to do it in small squares so the taste will be more distributed by all the fried rice. And it would look similar to the fried rice of the restaurant. Next to it, cuts only 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, and put all the ingredients separately.

Then pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large, deep, pan which is suitable to prepare the fried rice. Bring to a medium fire and take the vegetables that you had already prepared to the pan for about three minutes. Then, add 1 tablespoon salt and a pinch of black pepper. To know if you have passed the proper cooking time, the vegetables should be sweating a little, but not to be Brown.

Once you have ready the part of vegetables, place the half pound of chicken cooked in the pan. Cut the chicken into thin strips and place them in the pan, where you have previously placed 2 tablespoons of sesame oil for frying the chicken. You do not have to put all the oil at the same time, because it is best to add all the time that the chicken is been frying.

The time to fry the ingredients in the pan is very important

When the chicken is already done, add three eggs to the pan, after being beaten in a bowl separate. Finally, check the rice on the same pan where you have fried the chicken and eggs. You have to do leave on the fire for about 2 or 3 minutes. This part is very important, because if you leave it longer all the work you have done so far will be useless.

Therefore, you only have to leave the rice in the pan long enough to heat it and mixing well with all the ingredients. And it is very important to not stop stirring the rice all the time that is fried.

Gives the final touch with soy sauce, which you must take 3 tablespoons as much to all the mixture, and leave for 30 seconds. If you leave more time the flavour that you get will not be the same like the fried rice of the restaurant. So it is important that you respect the time that is frying the rice with soy.

After those 30 seconds, remove the pan from the heat and is ready to serve. And if you want to give a more elegant touch, pour the fried rice in a large dish and garnish with a few sprigs of chives.

    This fried rice recipe sounds good… had a bit of trouble reading the directions! Maybe its just operator error on my part!!! Sounds like a great recipe to do with the kids!!!

    what can I use when making fried rice instead of soya to have less sodium but lots of taste?
