In Christmas time we commit many excesses. And although it is true that that anyone bitter a sweet, we have to be careful with the quantity of the sweet or greasy food that we eat. And we are not going to deny that the Christmas meal has too much fat. For this reason we offer you a delicious Christmas recipes that are low fat.
One of these low fat recipes is the brownies
The ingredients that you will need to prepare these low fat brownies are: A cup and a half of pastry flour, half a cup of granulated sugar, one-third cup of cocoa powder unsweetened and half a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. The first thing is to preheat the oven to 350 º Fahrenheit and use a non-stick spray low fat to grease the mould. You can find these aerosols in any supermarket, in the section of dietetics or whole-grain products.
Pour the wholemeal flour, cocoa powder, natural granulated sugar, baking soda and salt in a bowl to mix and stir everything. Then get a hole in the centre of the dry mixture and pour the oil with the vanilla, yogurt and enough milk to make the dough soft and slightly stiff. Once dough is completely mixed, add the chocolate toping unsweetened. If you ca not find this kind of chocolate, you can use juice of sugar cane that will make the brownies have even fewer calories.
Pour dough into the greased pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre of the dough comes out clean and leave to cool to desired temperature. The last thing to prepare these delicious low fat Christmas recipes is to cut the dough into squares and serve on a plate for dessert with a dollop of yogurt and some fresh fruit. Thus, as the children devour the brownies, they will also eat fresh fruit.
Christmas seasonal salad
Who said that in Christmas can be only Turkey and fats? Your guests to the table will enjoy everything that you have made, if they see that you have spent so much time and care to prepare your Christmas dinner… And in that sense there is nothing better than a healthy meal that shows your concern for the health of your guests, as it is what happens with a Christmas salad.
To prepare this Christmas salad you will need as ingredients lettuce, 1 kilo of spinach, two red peppers, half a kilo of strawberries already clean, a kilo of blackberries, half a kilo of gooseberries, coconut fresh scratch to sprinkle and purple cabbage. As you can see, the ingredients have the typical colours of Christmas, red, green and violet, so nobody can deny that it is a genuine Christmas salad.
To prepare this salad, really the most complicated is to gather all the ingredients, clean them thoroughly and then cut them in a way that is attractive to view, which is the most important thing. Mix all the ingredients in a special bowl for the occasion, and use the cabbage, berries and the gooseberries as decoration, being the last thing that you have to add to your salad, just before sprinkle the coconut so it will look like snow on our salad.
And for this salad, being a Christmas low fat meal, forget about the oil and the salt and accompany the salad with a delicious Strawberry Yogurt sauce. Maybe the mixture will surprised you, but I assure you that the result is delicious and very healthy for these Christmas recipes.
Sweet Potato Mash
Sweet Potato Mash is a dish which, although it is typical of Christmas, is often unnoticed along with other dishes such as Turkey and cranberry sauce. But this is not fair, since it is a delicious dish which is also healthier than most of the food that we eat in Christmas.
The ingredients that you are going to need to prepare this cream of sweet potato are 4 large sweet potatoes (or one per person), 4 spoons of large brown sugar, 2 ounces of unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, a teaspoon of cinnamon and half teaspoon of nutmeg and salt to taste. But remember that this is a low fat recipe, so you should not overdo with the salt.
The first thing to do is put sweet potatoes in the oven at 200° C and let them cook for about 1 hour, until the candy begins to escape and there are completely tender. When that happens, remove them from the oven and cut them in half to get all the flesh, leaving only the skin.
Finally add the remaining ingredients and beat them until the mixture is creamy, and you are ready to serve these delicious Christmas recipes which, in addition to healthy, is very easy to make.
